Project Description
􀁺 This study identified the design, size and cost of the most suitable liquefaction system for production of
a range of LNG capacities.
􀁺 The study utilises Costain’s well-proven liquefaction technology using a closed nitrogen expander cycle.
Key benefits of this technology include inherent safety (by use of nitrogen as refrigerant), low space
requirement, insensitivity to vessel movement and ease of operation, start-up and shutdown.
􀁺 High overall reliability was considered in the choice of refrigeration cycle, plant configuration, the
sparing philosophy and the selected machinery.
