加拿大远望集团拥有的海上天然气M-15区块通过国际先进的三维地震勘探技术，已成功识别出十四个含油气构造，经过保守预测，该区块的可采资源量达数万亿立方米，相当于目前我国年天然气消耗量的十余倍。与会专家听取了来自该公司和中海油服的勘探资料和研究成果汇报，经过深入分析确认，M-15区块海域作为“一带一路”的关键节点区域，蕴藏着丰富的油气资源，为世界级超大型天然气田群发现，非常罕见。

业内人士分析称，远望集团在沪设立中国总部将对推动共建“一带一路”、积极构建开放型世界经济体系、实现国际能源供需平衡以及保障能源产业链和供应链稳定具有深远影响。据透露，项目计划于今年内开始钻探，前景值得期待。
